STREETFEST 2011

On Sunday 30th May, we went along to the Streetfest in the heart of East London's Shoreditch.
It was a day filled with Music, graffiti, performances and a whole lotta stylish peeps! After pushing my way to the front of the queue, I finally made it inside the arena.

There were three main parts to the arena. Firstly, outside saw the Kopperberg stage, in which hosted a lineup of performances by XO man, Mikil Pane, open mic sessions and poetry. This spoken word corner got the crowds going with a mixture of controversial and comedic subjects.
The graffiti artists took full reign over the walls, covering them with original art with an eclectic mix. Some of them I did find disturbing I must say!

Lastly, there was an area for the BMX bike riders to shine with 3 ramps for them to show off the skills!

Once you entered the main area, you were greeted by a virtual addidas graffiti wall, in which individuals displayed their artistic talent. If art wasn't really your thing, as you progressed, you would find an addidas photo booth, which was great fun, even though we kept chopping someones head off every time we went in!

Fashion was an important aspect of the festival, with streetwear designers displaying what they had to offer. Brands such as Ape apparel, Treacle, Pin inspired and Player were all present, promoting their brands.

The third area was the main stage in which saw performances from Ghost poet at Wretch 32. The crowd was buzzing and after a set by Wretch were were ready for some house tunes by Mr Marcus Nasty. Everyone was raving hard and having a good time, the vibe was sik!
