Quadrophenia era remastered

Quadrophenia was a film made in 1979, portraying the youth that were the Mods and the Rockers. A rivalry and fashion clash of the Rock Cultures in the 1960's.

It is this era and fashion in that I would say is what most of the cool peeps that hang around Dalston and Shoreditch gain most of their inspiration from, without knowing why. It is the essence of rebellion, the path in which one chooses to follow.

There are 'alternative' dressers out there who dress the way that they do and have absolutely NO idea where their fashion sense came from. You think that comb overs and creepers came out of someones ass? Nahh mate, the fashion was stolen from various eras in history. We are at a time in which fashion is very much 1950's- 1980's retro. Films like Quadrophenia show where these trypes of fashion originated from and where designers now gained inspiration from.

This Pictures could have been taken last week

A little History lesson, The Mods and the Rockers, 2 conflicting subcultures. Both drive around in a motorised bike with the Mods seen on scooter and the Rockers on Motorbikes. The Mods wore Chelsea boots and the Rockers wore biker boots of Creepers. They hated each other predominantly due to fashion and music choice.. doesn't sound too dis similar to what we see now.
Bigg duffle coats and Trilby hats of the Mods as well as Creepers and leather Jackets of the Rockers + rebellion, music and drugs = Shoreditch and Camden.

P.S watch the film is great and sik soundtrack.

VICE REPORTS: I don't 'get' Instagram

It's true, Over the last year or so, instagram has become friggin crazy! For those of you that don't have a smart phone probs wont know what instagram is and if you have a smart phone, which rock have you been living under! Cheesze! Anywho, people take pictures of everything an anything.

In This Vice Reports, Vice delves  into this craze and has a good old rant! I don't know about you, but I get pretty bored seeing pictures of the same people's faces day in day out in just a different location. Also people use it as a way of showing just how 'busy' their lives are and hope that this will make us jealous. They are obviously far too bored with what they are doing as they stop and decide to post pictures of themselves sitting a a desk saying just how much work they are doing.

But yeah have a read peeps!!

Read it HERE

Ruby Blu

I met this guy like 10 years ago when my friends were doing a youth course with him for talented individuals based in Hackney. I will never forget his big personality, he was an absolute joker!

Anywho, fast forward 10 years and i'm at work in the coffee shop and one of our customers comes in. He calls me over and says to me, 'Have you heard of this singer Ruby Blu?' I was like nope, so he showed me a Youtube video. I was like OMFG I know this guy. It was kinda weird really, how small this world is and how great the power of youtube and word out mouth has.

I friggin Love his sound, it's a bit folky, mixed with Soul with a dash of cockney. Hi sound is sick and so is his image. If this guy gets in at the right places, he's gunna do big things :D
